Job Description
You will be maintaining, enhancing, and implementing the presentation layer for internal and external customer facing services and tools, under the guidance of a Principle UI Engineer.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in all aspects of the presentation layer and many of the technologies associated with it (JavaScript, AJAX, XHTML, CSS, MVC).
Job Responsibilities
-Work with stake holders to clarify and prioritize requirements.
-Evaluate commercial and open source software.
-Create design documents as required.
-Implement UI and back-end services to support integration platform of various data, data services and data management.
-Work with team members to deliver prioritized features within the data services platform.
-Deliver consistent / measurable progress within our development methodology framework.
Job Experience
HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
Direct experience with jQuery and familiarity with EXT JS, YUI, Prototype
Familiarity with data visualization & reporting toolkits (E.g. Google Visualization, JFreeChart)
Familiarity with multiple application containers (Tomcat, JBoss, WebLogic, etc.)
Familiarity with Flash
Proven track record of identifying and championing new technologies that enhance the end-user experience, software quality, and developer productivity
Experience in both small and large companies
Experience gaining consensus from different internal stakeholders using learned skills including storyboards for illustrating early concepts and application navigation.
Required Experience
2-3 years� commercial experience in Web application development and architecture
Your own sense of what makes a good User Experience (UX) but able to work with a designer
Experience in at least one MVC architecture or application of the pattern
Strong skills in JavaScript and Ajax
Solid skills in supporting CSS across major browsers
Familiarity with Java in the application tier, as well as with application containers
Familiarity and experience with agile (scrum) development process
Strong commitment to delivering well-structured, well-commented and test-driven code
Enterprise SaaS or Consumer web site experience
Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
Self-starter that is results focused with the ability to work independently and in teams
Proven track record of producing high quality software against plans and schedules that are being met consistently
Required Education
B.S. in Computer Science or other relevant technical field
